Tim is an early pioneer in the digital publishing space, having started his career on the print side of the Washington Post Company in 1989 and moving to the online division in 1995. During his 17 years with the Washington Post, Tim served in various marketing, sales, business development and operation roles before ultimately rising to the post of Vice President of Marketing. Tim played an instrumental role in the development, management and growth of interactive business lines, including WashingtonPost.com, Slate.com, Newsweek.com, BudgetTravel.com and Sprig.com, across local, national and international markets. Under his leadership, WashingtonPost.com achieved the highest reach of any local site in its market and received multiple industry awards for excellence.
After leaving the Washington Post, Tim launched his own consulting practice to help businesses adapt to the changing media landscape. As a consultant to the Los Angeles Times, he helped double the audience for LATimes.com in less than 12 months.
Tim is a respected thought leader in topics related to digital marketing and has presented at conferences such as SXSW, AllFacebook Marketing Conference, SMX Advanced and the Newspaper Association of America.
Tim holds a B.A. in political science from Purdue University and an M.B.A. from George Mason University.
