Huffington Post Blazes a Trail

There is no denying Huffington Post's substantial growth over the past few years.

Where once they were deemed a political blog, today they strive to be "America's Internet Newspaper." The site is well on its way with 22 verticals and a readership and revenue which some have projected to eclipse the New York Times by 2014.

They've got to be doing something right.

Blogging from Web 2.0 – Social Media Dos & Don’ts

We have made the pilgrimage to San Francisco for O’Reilly’s Web 2.0. We’ll be sharing some of the insights we gather from the workshops, conferences and our fellow attendees here on the Perfect Market blog.

Today was workshop day and my morning was spent learning best practices for social media marketing.  Since we do so much social media with our partners, it was helpful to get a rundown of some of the best practices for social media success.

Aliza Sherman, a noted social media expert/maven — although, as she freely admitted, there are no true “experts” or really anyone “certified” in social media marketing — shared her insights from 20 years of online marketing (take that, Mark Zuckerburg!).

SXSW: Twitter’s @anywhere, Digg’s Redesign and StickyBits

As smelly tour vans with bald tires wobble into Austin for the music leg of SXSW, still kicking around on my dashboard are the twitpics, 140 character pull quotes and notes gathered from four days of interactive sessions.

Two big news announcements at SXSW Interactive 2010 centered around enabling more easily distributed and personalized real-time information.

At the second annual Bigg Digg Shindig, CEO Jay Adelson announced that Digg is redesigning the site, increasing site speed and incorporating customizable features, including access to personal feeds from Google, Facebook, Twitter, and OpenID.
